Growing up, my siblings and I always found it so difficult to buy gifts for my dad. It wasn’t that he was hard to please – it was just that he never wanted anything at all! He is quite the minimalist – before that was even a thing!
So, the two things (as kids) that we always knew we could buy for him was a new belt or a new wallet. He was in law enforcement and he ended up getting a wallet for his badge so that left only the belt! 🙂 I mean, how many belts can you get someone?!
Father’s Day Gift: A Nice Selection of Wallets for the Traveling Dad
EDIT: As of today, June 2, he received the maximum orders to be able to deliver by Father’s Day. If you order now, you will not receive it in time for Father’s Day. But, they are a nice gift for anytime – or for yourself! 🙂
Well, if you have a father that likes to travel (or is even a minimalist with his credit cards) and maybe hard to buy for, here is a nice gift idea. I have had several readers buy these wallets in the past and have expresses their pleasure with them. Maybe this could be an idea for your father!
Handcrafted Leather Wallets – With Stacking Promos!
Link: Lost Dutchman Leather – Reminder: As of June 2, orders placed now will not be delivered by Father’s Day.
This leather shop on Etsy is run by my brother-in-law. I get nothing for telling you about his wallets – just an assurance from many buyers (and myself!) that these wallets have great quality! He made me the one below a couple of years ago and I use it every single day. It has already outlasted every other passport wallet I used before this, and it has worn in very nicely!
Getting a Stacking Deal
To start, make sure you go through a shopping portal. There are deals where you can get 2% cash back at Etsy or as much as 4 miles per dollar (British Airways). That is a nice way to start – check this link for the list.
Check your Amex Offers and add the one below to the card you use for this gift!
- Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $40+
- For one or more transactions
- Valid online at Etsy.com
- Expires 6/25/2018
Putting It Together
Now, let’s put this together. These leather wallets are available at a really decent price, especially given the quality. His wallets range from $18 – $52. I have been a fan of Killspencer products for a few years (loved their Special Ops backpack!) and they also sell leather wallets – but from $109 for a cardholder to $220 for their passport wallet! So, these are quite a bit better of value from Lost Dutchman Leather!
So, what does it all come out to? If you bought a $52 wallet and stacked it with the above deals, you would end up paying $42 after the Amex Offer and another 2% back from a cashback portal. Pretty nice!
Good Gift Idea?
These are very fine products (and I am not just saying that because he is family!). I use my leather passport wallet everyday and it has worn beautifully and is perfect for what it does. I have used many passport wallets but this is the best one I have had yet. I am pretty sure that you would be happy with any of the products he sells as well. His wallets are perfect for that minimalist feel to help you slim down on your travels.
Finally, he does do custom work. If you want a nice passport wallet like I got, make sure you ask for Charlie’s passport wallet in the custom order box and you should be all set! 🙂
