The latest Amazon Paperwhite really is the best one they have made yet with the addition of a few new features but the best one has to be – it is waterproof! For anyone reading near the pool (actually a very popular spot for Kindle owners on vacation!), this could save you some money on a spill!
A Kindle is one of my all-time favorite pieces of travel tech because the battery lasts a long time and you can store a ton of books on there to read wherever you go. Plus, it is so lightweight, it can be stored anywhere!

With this deal of the day from Amazon, you can actually save some money on the initial purchase as well! While the new Amazon Paperwhite is normally $129 (up $10 from the previous generation), it had seen a low price around Black Friday of $99.
Today, it is even better at $89 for the 8GB model (which is plenty of space – unless you are going to use it for Audible books, another new feature of this Kindle generation). If you want the extra space, the 32GB model will run you $119 (down from $159).
I have to say that this is really the best Paperwhite to get, not just because it is the latest. It really seems like Amazon took some of the best features of their Oasis (top of the line), the now-gone Voyage, and the “budget” Paperwhite to make a really complete Paperwhite model. Unless you want the extra inch, the 6” Kindle Paperwhite is the best deal over the Oasis.
