That 5 minute transfer that BLADE has between JFK and Manhattan has been the envy of Newark and LaGuardia travelers for a little while now, especially since they started flying all-day schedules at just $195 a pop (while that isn’t exactly cheap, it is a good price when compared to something like an Uber).
BLADE Expands All-Day Helicopter Schedules from Manhattan to Newark and LaGuardia for $195
Link: BLADE | (If you use my referral code – CharlesB37 – when signing up, you will receive $50 off your first BLADE flight! I will also receive a credit, so thank you!)
Now you don’t have to look up at those helicopters while you are stuck in traffic enroute to EWR or LGA! BLADE has now announced that they have expanded those quick transfers to all New York City area airports. Here’s the details:
Routes are between:
- BLADE Lounge East (East 34th Street Heliport) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
- BLADE Downtown/Wall Street Heliport and LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
- BLADE Lounge West (West 30th Street Heliport) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
Now, you are in a helicopter, not a bus, so weight is an issue. You will only be allowed to carry a 25 lbs carryon and a personal item. The good news is that you can get an add-on of luggage delivery if you don’t travel exactly light. That add-on costs $85 for two checked bags with an additional $40 charge for each additional bag (but only for drop-off points in Manhattan south of 90th Street).
These flights are being run all-day so you won’t have to wait long to grab a helicopter and all seats are just $195 each.
These flights will start May 13 and are bookable now.
Better Than Uber?
The cheapest Uber, Uber Pool, could cost you over $60 for this trip and quite a bit of your time (Uber used to have a flat $60 option but not anymore so it could cost more than $60). If you want to elevate the ride a bit, it will cost you about $120 for Uber Black. Sure, you can pile more people in but if it is just you, you could cut a ton of time with the new Blade transfer option for between $135 and $75 more.
