Amazon reveals their “Best of Prime 2018” to show the kind of value that Prime members got with Amazon Prime and show some of the numbers for their top hits.

Amazon Prime saw a price hike this past year of $20 a year to $119. Yet, even with that price hike, Amazon’s Prime Day in July claimed the most single day Prime subscribers in Amazon’s history. There is no question that Amazon has done a lot to give value to go with that $119 fee. Here, they reveal their “Best of Prime 2018” to show what some of the numbers look like.

Here are some of the figures that Amazon released about Amazon Prime from 2018 that I found to be pretty interesting.

  • 2 billion products ordered around the world for delivery in 1 day or faster!
  • Most purchased item is the Fire TV stick
  • The most popular Prime deal at Whole Foods Market was organic apples with enough being purchased to bake 350,000 apple pies
  • Fastest delivers (delivered in just 9 minutes!) – Excedrin and Massage ball in Los Angeles, CA | Nintendo SNES Classic in Kirkland, WA | High Sierra Loop Backpack in Charlotte, NC

With other retailers like Walmart really stepping up their free delivery game, Amazon Prime for free 2-day delivery is just not enough of a reason to subscribe for $119 per year for Amazon Prime. However, if you consume a lot of media, Amazon Prime could replace your Netflix subscription (which can longer be obtained cheaply with iTunes gift cards), the lending library can be a great way to read Kindle books for free, Whole Food discounts can be helpful, and some of the delivery timeframes from Amazon are just downright impressive.

Same Day Delivery is Awesome!

Earlier last year, I was in Phoenix and needed to pick up something for the next day. The local Best Buy did not have what I was looking for and I happened to be on Amazon browsing to get some other ideas when I saw that I could order exactly what I needed and have it delivered in just a couple of hours! That saved me some significant money and time for sure!

Of course, if you are into deals, Amazon Prime deal is also a day that can help you to earn back some of your membership fee. There were some great deals this past year from Prime Day (some even better than Black Friday) and I am guessing that this year will be even better.
