If you want to rack up more AA miles, here are 3 credit card offers that will give you a total of 160,000 AA miles after meeting the spending.

American Airline miles certainly aren’t as valuable today as they were before March 22, but they still do have a good amount of value. Not only that, but it is even more important to get as many miles now as possible since the premium awards have gone up. Here are 3 credit card offers that will get a total of 160,000 AA miles.

Applying for the Cards

With Citi cards, you can apply for one card in 8 days and no more than two cards in 60 days. This means that you could get 2 of the cards within the next 2 weeks and then get the other card in 2 months. The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card is the one that is most often at the 50,000 mile level so it could be the one you put off for the 2 months.

If you currently have the above cards, that does not exclude you from getting them again! The bonus is not available to you only if you opened or closed the card in the last 24 months. If you opened a card over 2 years ago and you still have it, you can apply again and get the bonus all over again.

The Value of AA Miles

American Airline miles can still get you all over the world! Not only that, but the economy awards have stayed pretty much the same so nothing has really changed there.

On the premium cabin side, there are some redemptions that have not changed too much. One of those is the US to Europe in business class. Instead of 50,000 miles one way, it is now 57,500 miles one way. That is not that much more to enjoy business class for what could be over 10 hours.

In addition to that, you can also use your miles for travel through Abu Dhabi in Etihad’s Apartment (when you can find availability) for 115,000 miles instead of the old 90,000 miles. Yes, that is an extra 25,000 miles, but it is still an incredible way to fly for 14 hours!

  • Good post but I do take a little exception with the Europe awards not changing much. While it’s true they only went up 15k round trip recently they are much higher than the old US Air 60k RT off peak business awards. Just sayin 🙂 Gosh I sound bitter don’t I.
