  • Wow – I just ran the Chicago Marathon (2nd time in 3 years). Didn’t hear or see a thing or receive an email that I noticed about moving up registration by 5 months. What’s with the change? No way I’d commit to a marathon 11 months in advance – way too many variables. Registering the ~6 months in advance that it was this year is as far out as I’d want to commit. Too bad – I’d be open to running it again and my sister-in-law is interested, but we won’t be registering this far in advance.

    • I understand it has to do with it being the 40th anniversary and they want to get is sold out sooner.
I hear you on the commitment part! Imagine this – the Gothenburg Marathon opened registration back in 2014 but it is for the 2021 marathon!!!

      • Looks like registration was the same for the 2018 Chicago Marathon. Must be how they are doing it for now on. I just applied yesterday for the lottery. Will be my first marathon if I get in.
