Garmin has certainly set the bar higher for running watches over the last few months with the 920XT and the announcement of their new watches coming. But, it should not be forgotten that they still have excellent watches that came out just in the end of 2013 – the Garmin Forerunner 620 and 220 watches. These watches are fantastic for runners and have some very great features. Until I switched to the 920XT (for the battery life and notifications), I had the 620 from the time it started shipping and absolutely loved it.
These watches are still priced at the original prices of $399 for the 620 (w/out the HRM-Run) and $299 for the 220 (w/out the HRM-Run). Some retailers may have cheaper pricing from time to time but that is the standard price. Well, finally, these watches are available from Garmin’s refurbished site. I have been watching that for a while because that site offers a great shot at getting Garmin gear at a great price – and the refurb models are still great!
From the refurb site, you can get the 620 for $329 and the 220 for $199. I think the price on the 220 is fantastic and wish it was that price during my big giveaway week. 🙂 If you are in the market for one of those watches, now may be a good time to get one.
Both watches have the colors available at the lower prices – blue/black and orange/white for the 620 and red/black and white/purple for the 220.
