This is a bit of a tough one but definitely one to put out there. Recently, the Starwood Amex cards were offering 35,000 Starpoints as a sign-up bonus – a great deal, in fact, the best ever on that card. Now, it is back to the normal 25,000 Starpoints.

The Tough Part

So, they have doubled the referral bonus for cardholders to 10,000 Starpoints when you refer a new customer for the card. That is great! But, make sure you do your part and let your friends/family members know that they can only get that card bonus once. If they would rather not wait for it to go back up to 30,000 Starpoints (normally around the summer months), then give them your link and you both can earn some valuable points!

How To Refer And Earn Points

That is a great way to boost your own account and get points that would otherwise require you to spend $5,000!

The quick and easy way (depending on the cards you have) is to simply go to this amex website and enter your login info. It will pull up the referral page and you are good to go. This will work for the personal card.

For the business card, try going to this Amex link and input your details.

But, while that works on my wife’s account, it keeps pulling up a different card’s referral offer on my account. So, if that is the same with you, here is how to get the referral offer for either the business or personal (depending on which one you have).

Here is the other way to access your referral links so you can pass them on to your friends and family.

• Start at the spg website
• Log in to your SPG account
• Click on the link to refer friends

• Select which card you have – personal or business

• Log in to your American Express account
• Enter the name and e-mail address of the person you are referring

• That’s it! Just wait for the 10,000 points from each successful application!

SPG Referral Details

• The personal and business card they will receive an offer for is to receive 25,000 Starpoints after spending $3,000 in 3 months (for the personal card) or spending $5,000 in 3 months (for the business card)
• You, the referrer, can earn up to 55,000 Starpoints by referral in a calendar year
• You must submit the referral by 615/2016
• You must have a personal card to refer the personal and a business card to refer the business card.
