When I was writing my post yesterday about how to find some of the best credit card offers, I noticed that AA’s homepage was no longer showing the 50,000 mile offer. Instead, it was replaced with a 30,000 mile offer. In fact, the 40K + $100 credit offer from yesterday has been dropped to the 30K + $100 amount.

To be fair, this offer has been marked as a “limited time offer” for quite a while. It has been available for quite a while. But, now it is back to the 30,000 mile offer.
However, you can still find it at the 50,000 mile offer (same link that has been on my credit card page for a long time). I have no idea how long that offer will stay at the 50,000 mile amount but, if you had been on the fence, this could be the time to go for it. Just remember that it needs to have been 18 months since you last had the card. You must also have not applied for another Citi card within the last 8 days.
30,000 Miles + $100 Statement Credit – Spend $1,000 in 3 Months
This offer is available during the reservation process. This link does bring up the offer in my searches but in case it does not show it for you, simply look for a ticket on AA.com and it will be seen on the right side of the screen during the process.
This is certainly not as good as the 50,000 mile offer but it is certainly nice to have a different option! Again, the 50,000 mile offer is much better but if you want the statement credit, this one will give it to you.
The one good reason to apply for this one instead is that it only requires $1,000 spending vs the $3,000 required with the other offer.
Can you get the card if you had the Visa version w/in the past 18 months?
[…] Running with miles made me aware of another offer where you’ll receive 30,000 miles after $3,000 in spend and up to $100 in statement credit. For every $1 you spent on American Airlines/US Airways you’ll receive a $1 statement credit for the first twelve months, up to a limit of $100. […]
