How Rakuten Works
Rakuten (the old Ebates) is just another shopping portal website where they pay you to start your online shopping through your site. You will still see all the same prices and deals at your favorite online stores, it is just that you are benefitting from the nice online arrangement where the store is using Rakuten to get you to them. Hey, it’s cash back in your pocket for shopping you would do anyway!
Just remember that you are not able to use any coupons that are not either found on the retailer’s home page or on the Rakuten page to get the cash back! While some of the 200+ stores may not be some to get overly excited about, there are some nice increases on other retailers that normally pay out in the low single digits. Those are the ones you are going to want to focus on. At the same time, make sure you take a quick gander over at CashBack Monitor to make sure you are getting the best deal for the store you shop at (for example, TopCashBack is paying 20% cash back for shopping at eBags while Ebates is paying 12% for this promotion).
