With the recent announcement of Hyatt award category changes, the most significant hotel differences are the ones that either become bookable with a Hyatt free night certificate or the ones that are no longer bookable. Here is a breakdown on those hotels.
12 Hotels to Be Bookable with Free Night Certificates
What Hyatt Free Night Certificates?
Hyatt has free night certificates that are good for a single free night (any night) at a Category 1 – 4 property. Here are ways you can earn a Hyatt free night certificate:
- Staying 30 nights in a year at Hyatt properties
- Staying in 5 different Hyatt brands
- Staying in another 5 different Hyatt brands
- An anniversary night on both the regular Hyatt credit card and the World of Hyatt card
- By spending $15,000 in a year on the World of Hyatt card
The sweet spot, as for saving points, is for Hyatt category 4 hotels. Those hotels would require 15,000 points if you did not have a free night certificate.
Here are the 12 hotels that will be bookable with free night certificates as of March 18 at 11:01 CT.

Unfortunately, there are even more hotels that will no longer be bookable with the free night certificates. To make it worse, some of these were exceptionally good values with the certificate as well.
It is a shame to another Park Hyatt in South Korea move out of range with the free night certificates. Also, the Park Hyatt in Hamburg (a popular choice) is also no longer going to be bookable with free night certificates. More disappointing moves are the Andaz Papagayo, the Grand Hyatt DFW, and the Hyatts in Seattle.
