Yesterday, TripAdvisor released their list of the top 25 hotels in the world. It is quite a list and shows some incredible hotels! Many times, lists like this have hotels on them that are just unattainable by most of us due to the cost of accommodation and/or accessibility. This time, one of the top 25 hotels in the world is actually bookable with points – and for a short time, at a discount!

Breakdown

Of the 25 hotels, only one is located in the US and of course it is in New York City. Some of the hotels on the list can be had for under $150 but those are in locations where $150 on hotels could go quite a way as well. But, still something to consider.

Beach destinations are popular with two of the hotels being in the Maldives and some other islands represented as well. Beaches are always an image of relaxation so that is not a big surprise.

The Hotel With Points – Al Maha

The hotel that you can stay at with points is number 24, the Al Maha in the UAE. It is a resort hotel that is part of SPG’s Luxury Collection and costs 60,000 Starpoints per night!

However, it is currently a part of SPG’s Paradise Just Closer redemption sale. That sale has 7 luxury SPG properties available for 35% less points than they would normally be. That means, until March 8, you can stay at the Al Maha for 39,000 points per night. It is still a big number, but it is definitely a good deal from the normal price. Not only that, but if you stay for 5 nights, you only pay for 4 so that brings down the price even more.

Have you ever stayed at one of these hotels? What hotels that you have stayed at do you think would be a good candidate for this list?

  • My wife and I stayed at Nayara (23) a few years ago. We got a 3 night package that was buy 2 get 1 free, but it was still a splurge. The hotel was absolutely amazing. Beautiful grounds, spectacular room, and wonderful service. I would love to visit again.
