The new Insta360 GO 2 camera is here! This would be a great addition to your bag – or pocket – to help you capture things on the run, in your travels, or just in your life!

Never has there been a time before when people are so interested in grabbing parts of their lives and putting them online for others to see and enjoy (or, endure? 🙂). There are some big names in this action camera space that deliver on quality and portability but the new Insta360 Go 2 is one that makes it even more possible to be more portable.

Insta360 is a company that, has their name reveals, started with some 360 degree camera products. I have one – the Insta360 One X – and can say that the quality is really good as well as the ability to just quickly edit the video after to reframe any part of the 360 degree capture to make it a single perspective.

I have been impressed with the quality of both the product and the video and have used it for many things, especially running. I also have a GoPro which has long been the standard in the action camera space, though DJI has taken a pretty big swipe at that market as well. But, both cameras have the familiar boxy look of the action camera which can still travel ok but is not exactly a mini.

The Insta360 GO 2 is a Great Upgrade

Enter Insta360 with their new GO 2! When they released the original GO, it was a nice idea but I found it to be somewhat limiting in both quality and in usability. It just took a button press but the clips were limited in their shooting length, capping out at 60 seconds and with just a nominal 1080p resolution.

The new Insta360 GO 2 keeps a similar form factor but really bumps up the performance part of this action camera. Now, you get longer clips with anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes as max length, depending on what kind of stabilization you are using. Speaking of stabilization, it has the Insta360 FlowState stabilization as well that should deliver some smooth videos of your action – something that all viewers will appreciate!

Put it Anywhere

Not only is it small but it also has multiple points of being secured for that perfect capture. It has built-in magnets that you can use with the included pendant to put it on your shirt or you can clip it on a hat or something else using the Easy Clip that is also included. Again, “magnets” mean that you have a lot of ways to really position this camera for those special shots.

Being waterproof down to 13 feet means you can easily take it under water with you. It does this while also upgrading the resolution 1440p with frame rates at 50fps for a more smooth take on your active life or 30fps. It can also do slow motion at 1080p at 120fps.

Now, these frame rates are definitely not as high or as high resolution as GoPro’s camera but this is also cheaper than a GoPro and in a more compact package. At just 26 grams, this thing is tiny and light! The Insta360 GO 2 is built for someone that wants to have an action camera with them all the time, ready to go, without having the boxiness of a GoPro or DJI camera.

The Software

Another great element is Insta360’s software that you can use with its AI feature to automatically put together a special selection of clips from your video. You can edit it wirelessly or connect it with the cable – either way, it can all be done right from your smartphone.

The Insta360 GO 2 is available today and retails at $299 directly from Insta360.com. Included with the camera, you will also get an included Charge Case, Magnet Pendant, Easy Clip, Pivot Stand and Lens Guard.

This camera could be the perfect action camera for someone like a runner that wants to capture that special run or race or for someone traveling that wants to record their trip around that new city – without having to even carry or worry about having a camera in their hand.
