This is the kind of day where all the savings line up to give some great savings on luggage! If you need to get some new luggage (and don’t care about it not being Tumi or Briggs&Riley), make sure you put all of these things together to get a great deal on the luggage you need.
Quadruple Stack for Big Luggage Savings!
Ok, we will go step-by-step to show what you need to squeeze the most savings out of your luggage purchase! This is all for shopping at the online retailer eBags.
Step 1 – Amex Offer
One of the most frequent Amex Offers around is the one for eBags. It changes sometimes with the amount of the savings. This is one of the more generous ones (since they stopped being allowed to save to multiple cards on your account and using multiple gift cards to purchase an item) so check it out and save it to the card you want to use.
Here are the details on this offer (which you can find by logging in to your American Express account and scrolling down to all the offers – then click save to card on your favorite card):
- Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions
- Valid online at eBags.com
- Use by 6/17/2019
Step 2 – TopCashBack Shopping Portal
Next, head to this TopCashBack page to click their link and start you shopping at eBags. Through the end of today only, you can get 20% cash back on your shopping at eBags! This is definitely one of the better offers from them.
Step 3 – Save 20% on Many Brands at eBags
This is the part that won’t work with brands like Tumi or Briggs&Riley (to see a full list of exclusions, click this link). When you click the TopCashBack link above, it will automatically add a coupon code for 20% off and free shipping. That code is IMRGEN. Now, here is something to be aware of. Many times, codes listed on the retailer page that are available for everyone will work with cash back.
Note
There is a code that will get you 25% off but there is a very good chance that TopCashBack may decline your 20% cash back if you use it. So, I would stick with the code above since that is directly from TopCashBack. You will lose out on 5% extra but you will definitely get the 20% cash back.
Step 4 – Sign-Up for eBags Rewards
While not as generous as they have been in the past, you should definitely sign up for the eBags Rewards system. You will earn up to 10% back on your purchase for a future purchase (with special promos sometimes that offer even up to 20% back!). In my trial example of a popular Travelpro carryon bag, you would get $3.13 back for a future purchase on a $150 purchase. Not a lot but something to add to in the future!
Stacking It All Together
Now, let’s take the Travelpro Crew 11 International Carry-On Spinner with USB Port. Retail with eBags is $195.49. With the sale discount, that brings it down to $156. Do check Amazon as this same bag can be had for $146 but you won’t get all that cash back or be able to use the Amex Offer.
Let’s add it all up:
- Starting price – $195
- eBags discount – $39
- Amex Offer credit – $20
- TopCashBack cash back – $31
- eBags Rewards for future purchase – $3
- Total after all discounts and future value = $102
Not a bad deal! Remember, this is even sweeter because the Amex Offer and TopCashBack are being handled and have nothing to do with each other so you are getting that full amount from each.
[…] Signup for Ebags Rewards and get up to 10% back on your purchase toward a future purchase. (hat tip to runningwithmiles) […]
If you have the AMEX deal on multiple cards you can still buy a $100(or more) eBag gift card(for a net $80) and use it as partial payment. This should knock another $20 off the overall price.
My AmEx offer was different, Charlie. I got 2,000 Membership Rewards Points!
Thanks for posting this as my Briggs & Riley just bit the dust. (I can’t send it back for repairs as I live in Thailand and the handle is pulled all the way out and won’t go down.)
