Southwest has launched a new sale that is perfect for springtime travel. If you have already booked travel for then, check to see if there has been a drop to save some money or points!

Southwest has moved their weekly sale up by a day to launch it on Monday instead of the usual Tuesday. That may have something to do with the fact that the sale is for spring travel and they want to give you as much time at the lower prices as possible.

Here are the details about the new Southwest sale for springtime travel:

  • Purchase from March 25 through March 28, 2019, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
  • Continental U.S. travel valid May 7 through June 12, 2019.
  • International travel valid May 7 through May 16, 2019.
  • Continental U.S. travel blacked out May 23-24, and May 27, 2019.

This is one of the more restrictive Southwest sales as of late (last week’s gave sale prices into November!) as it only has tickets on sale for travel in May and early June. Still, this is a good time to check your current reservations to see if the prices have dropped at all. Thanks to Southwest’s awesome cancellation/change policy, you can change those and get credit or points back in an instant if the price has dropped!

Taking a quick look through the sale, I saw many city pairs on sale for under $80 each way. With Southwest, it is so easy to just book something with points now and then cancel it if plans don’t work out later which is why I always encourage people to at least book something they are looking for during these sales!
