Maximizing Points Buying iPads

I wrote a couple of weeks ago about how to maximize your points when buying a new iPad. I know that there are many people out there that are still holding out for the iPad Mini Retina that will be released in a couple of weeks.

If you want to get the most points possible, the best way to go would be with 1) using a Chase Ink Bold or Chase Ink Plus card (to earn the 5X points per dollar) at Staples. To earn even more, you can 2) go through the Ultimate Rewards shopping portal before you make the purchase. This will give an additional 2X points per dollar. The terms say that the shopping portal does not award points for technology purchases but I can confirm that people do receive the 2X points on iPad purchases.

This makes for a total of 7X points on iPad purchases when shopping at Staples. For the base model, this will give you 3,493 Ultimate Reward points. For the top model, you will earn 6,503 Ultimate Reward points.

To make the deal even sweeter, if you sign-up for the Staples Rewards program (free), you will receive 5% back in Staples Rewards towards future purchases. This makes the deal even better! This is a great way to go if you are looking for the iPads this holiday season!
