Last week, I popped up to Paris for two days to take my sons to the Paris Air Show. It is an event that is only in Paris every other year as it heads to the UK on the off years. They love planes as well so I thought it would be a fun trip for all of us. I was expecting to see some cool things but I was not expecting to actually get to see the Qatar Qsuites Business Class on their retrofitted 777. So, here are some pictures of what the real Qsuites look like inside the plane.
Inside the Real Qatar Qsuites Business Class
The reason I was surprised to see it was that it was supposed to have left the static line on the day the public show had opened and head to Doha for its inaugural flight to London this past Saturday. When I saw it at the end of the field, I told the boys we would start from that way and work our way back. My boys were troopers as they watched the planes overhead and waited in the slowly moving line with me. However, even they loved the inside of the Qsuites and their first question was “Dad, when are we going to fly on here?” In time, boys, in time. 🙂
So, because I did not actually fly on the flight, this is not a review but more a bunch of pictures about what the real Qsuites look like installed in the Boeing 777. They did a reveal back in March but they were not yet installed in a plane so this past week was the first time most people got to actually see what the new Qsuites looked like onboard the aircraft.
Please forgive the photo quality! We were being moved through the aircraft at a fairly quick pace and the lighting really was not that great so I am not thrilled with how they look but it was better than nothing!
With that out of the way, here is a look inside the real Qatar Qsuites featuring a double bed in business class – the only one in the world!
The Single Seats
Takeaway
Most of my impressions came when reviewing my photos after since I was literally snapping away as I walked through the cabin. 🙂 But, one thing I am interested to test out is the cubbyhole area for the feet. In this case, it seems like it is much deeper and more for the legs than just the feet and the bottom of the legs.
Other than that, it seems really nice and definitely brings a first class feel to business class! Not only that, but Qatar already offers their business class customers things like pajamas (which most airlines reserve for first class passengers) so this is taking the hard product up a notch as well to make business class passengers have more of that first class feel.
I am really, really hoping they get the retrofit going at a quick rate! They are saying 1 a month and I have a flight to New York later this year so I would love to give it a try longhaul! If not, I will probably take a son with me again and we will make a quick run to London the long way! I did that before with Etihad’s First Apartment so it won’t be unique for me, anyway! 🙂
If that’s Business Class how nice is F?
No F on those planes! In fact, I think only the A380 has first class left on it (with Qatar, that is). With business as good as it is getting with Qatar (the A350 is great also), I would definitely take this over something like British first (though I would likely take many others over that as well!).
No armrests on the seats at all???
The seats don’t appear to be well padded. I hope they are comfortable.
