Traveling with your whole family can be a wonderful experience – sharing the experience of seeing new places, visiting loved ones, and any other travel that carries the family together. While it may be a great experience, it can also be a little bit nerve-wracking along the way. When traveling with little ones, especially long distances, it can be quite an experience dealing with sleeping, eating, bathroom runs, etc. I know, we have traveled quite a bit with our children (ages 5, 4, 1 1/2)!
It is always nice to see an airline making things in-flight fun for kids and working to help the trip to be enjoyable for them. Some flight attendants always seem to look out for children and our kids have received the attention of attendants many times – a quick trip into the cockpit to sit in the co-pilot’s seat, little wings, toys, crayons, special kid meals, and other little hints of kindness along the way. However, when an airline makes a formal introduction special child-care for in-flight, it can be a great draw for family travel with small children.
Enter Etihad Airways new in-flight nanny. This nanny is a specially trained flight attendant who will be on the flight to assist families with their children (especially during time of sleep), special attention for unaccompanied minors, assisting families right from the boarding gate, and any other ways that a family might need. This new service is available on all long-haul Etihad Airways flights and is a very nice touch. In the future, if you are making a long journey, consider checking to see whether Etihad Airways serves your cities. It might make your trip a little more enjoyable. If using points, Etihad award travel is possible using American Airline miles. In fact, I have an Etihad flight coming up in a couple of months, so I will be bringing you my thoughts on the carrier as well. For more information about this new service, click here.
