Great Deals! Fly From Many Small US Cities to Sydney, Australia for $640 or Less!

Fly to Australia
Written by Charlie

If your home US airport is a small one, chances are that you can fly to Sydney from it for around $630! That is pretty good for airports that are normally very expensive to fly from!

If there was ever a route where I would say “book it in business!” It would be the US to Australia. No matter how you cut it, it will be a long trip! But, when the deals are right, booking it in economy is hard to resist because, well, it is Australia!

Great Deal – Fly From Many Small US Cities to Australia for $640 or Less

Australia is intriguing to many in the US because of its distance, the fact that we share a language, and many of the beautiful sites – both natural and manmade – that are available throughout the country.

Many times, we see some pretty good deals to Australia but they normally require that you fly from major airports to Australia (Edit: GSTP found flights from $446 from LAX and other major airports). This time, there are some pretty good deals from even small cities in the US.

The Airports

I tried about 15 cities (like ROC, CHS, TOL, ROA, SGF) that would range from small to somewhat medium sized. In other words, cities that are not hubs for major airlines and, in some cases, not even spoke cities.

I mean, some airports like Toledo have only a few commercial flights per day and this deal is available even from them!

The Sale Details

Follow this Google Flights link and just play around with your departure city and dates. I found this price valid from April into late September.

It seems that some of the best prices are for trips that are at least 7 days and around 9-10 days seem to be the sweet spot. Given the amount of travel time, 9 days is a nice time frame anyway.

This is valid with both United Airlines and American Airlines. I also went all the way to booking with both airlines to make sure it was not phantom space.

Also, you can use points and pay in Chase Ultimate Reward points, for example what United would charge you for just a one way award!

Act fast! You can always book now and you have up to 24 hours to cancel the tickets. These are not mistake fares but I still doubt they will last that long.

Yeah, those are long flights but once you get to Australia, chances are you will forget about it anyway. 🙂
