Great Deal: Up to 23X United Miles and $20 Off at eBags

Today, the United Airlines Mileage Plus shopping portal is giving out 18 miles per dollar spent. That is a very decent deal by itself, but it gets better. If you spend $200, you should also receive an additional 1,000 miles (this may be targeted, so check your e-mail or MileagePlus portal account). So, that gives us 23 United miles per dollar if we spend $200.

However, there is another promotion going on right now from them as well – if you spend $100, you will get $20 off (this does not work on all brands). That is a good deal by itself, but a great deal when combined with the other deals.

Spend $200 and get an additional 1,000 miles

When we put it all together, the math looks like this (for a purchase of $220) – 4,600 United MileagePlus miles + $20 off. When we assign a conservative value to those points, we get something like this – $90 in United miles value + we have saved $20. Combining the discount and value together, we get a net cost of $110 for $220 worth of merchandise, which could be a pretty nice travel bag.

Go to the United MileagePlus portal and login. Then search for eBags and you should see this:

Now, there may be items that are marked quite a bit higher than other retailers have them listed for.
