I am on a constant hunt for the perfect earbuds for running as well as everyday use. I have used a lot of earbuds over the years and one big reason is that the fit is very subjective. Not every ear is alike so what works for one person does not for another. Like it or not, the best options will normally be those that fit tight in the ear, especially for running.
If this is any indication, keeping in mind that I have tried almost 20 over the years, the pair I had used the longest were the Jaybird Vista Wireless earbuds. I had used them for almost 2 years on every single run and they were amazing.
When the new version 2 came out with noise cancellation, I had to give those a try as well. One of the best things about the Jaybird Vista earbuds is the case – it is a tough little case with a tiny fabric cord strap to hang it anywhere you need it. It is a nice little touch which is perfect for people like me on the go.
I will say that the Vista 2 are nicer but they lost connection periodically while the first version never did. It wasn’t a lot but maybe three times over a couple of weeks of testing.
That being said, at the current sale price of $129 down form $199, this is a great deal! This is cheaper than version 1 after a year of being on the market and these are just months old!
I will say that I have moved from these to another pair of earbuds that I think take the crown for me but they are not on sale – the brand new Beats Pro earbuds. Review coming.
