Great Deal: Free Global Data With Kindle w/ Keyboard For $60

Kindle Keyboard

I wrote last year about the best device for free global data and that device is the now discontinued Kindle Keyboard (Kindle 3) with WiFi and 3G. This Kindle comes with free data (up to 50MB) anywhere in the world. The onboard browser is very limited (in fact, Amazon calls it an experimental browser) but it can still access your e-mail and other must-have options while traveling internationally. Newer models do not allow you access to the internet, only to Amazon’s system, so this model is the latest to provide you with global data for internet access.

Sure, there are plans with carriers like T-Mobile that can give you free/cheap global data but you need to have some type of monthly plan to access that data. With the Kindle Keyboard, you will simply buy the Kindle and have free global data without any plans or fees. Again, do not plan on doing any type of browsing beyond basic internet, but, in a pinch, this is a great, cheap way to have internet anywhere in the world. Plus, you get a Kindle out of it! 🙂

The eBay listing (an eBay deal and one with which I have no ties to) says there are limited amounts of this and I am not surprised. These are often difficult to find for anywhere near this price, so if you want one, this would be the time to get it.
