Get up to $50 in free spending with your Amex card when you shop at small businesses! This is a great way to save some money while supporting small businesses.

Remember the good old days of Amex’s Small Business Saturday? This is the Saturday following Thanksgiving and, while it still is called that, it is nothing like it used to be! A few years ago, you could get free money to spend, courtesy of Amex, at small businesses and it was easy to rack up a lot in savings!

Well, Amex is bringing that back – sort of. It is going on now, not in November, and Amex will give you $5 back every time you spend $10 or more at a small business! You can go ahead and do this ten times for a total of $50 back on $100+ in spending!

Here is what you need to know to get started.

  • Enroll by 7/26/20.
  • Get a $5 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $10+ at a US business location on the Shop Small Map (or Online Directory)
  • Use by 9/20/20.
  • Limit of 10 statement credits (total of $50)
  • You must save it to an Amex card to get started

Find this offer by logging in to your Amex account and scrolling down to the Offers for You.

This is a great time to help support small businesses in your area while also getting a little money back for yourself. Here is the page with the map of small businesses in your area.

It all depends on how your favorite small business codes their transactions whether it will show up as a small business spend or not. The page above will show you many of those locations but I have found, in the past, that some small businesses that were not on the map still worked. If you want, go ahead and make a $10 purchase at some place like that to see if your credit posts.

Here is a look at the number of small businesses in Manhattan.
