A little bit ago, I posted about the nationwide Southwest sale and now we have the international sale from Southwest as well! These sale prices are available from just $59 and this is certainly a great time of the year to already plan flying to some warm destinations for the winter months!

International Sale Details:

  • Purchase from July 31 through August 2, 2018, 11:59 p.m. in the respective time zone of the originating city.
  • Travel to/from San Juan, Puerto Rico valid August 21 through December 6, 2018.
  • International travel valid August 21 through December 12, 2018

The cheapest place of departure with this sale is going to be Ft. Lauderdale, FL. From there, you can fly from just $59 to Nassau, Bahamas or Grand Cayman!

There are plenty of other routes on sale as well. The best part about using Southwest to fly internationally is that the Southwest Companion Pass still works for international use! This means you can get some serious savings when you fly with a friend or loved one to your southern destination.

Just be aware that the departure taxes from these international airports will be higher than the domestic flights! These pass on to the companion as well. Still, you will likely be spending way less than if you had booked with another airline – plus you still get the 2 free bags that other airlines will not give you!

If you are just starting to plan a trip, remember that you can always book now and cancel later to get your points back for free or cash back as a gift card to use. You can also change your flights for free (see this post for more information).
