The Back to School savings are all going on now and this is a great time to combine two nice deals to earn more miles and get a gift card if you have a purchase coming up from Apple.
Earn 5X miles on Apple iPad and Mac Purchases
Different airline shopping portals are out with special increased payouts on iPad or Mac purchases directly from Apple. Here they are:
- Alaska Airlines – 5X miles
- American Airlines – 4X miles
- Delta Air Lines – 5X miles
- United Airlines – 5X miles
This increase is only for iPads and Macs. Now, if you are eligible for education pricing (which is not something that they check through .edu e-mail addresses or anything like that), you can save even more and get up to a $150 gift card as well!
Here is what Apple says about who is eligible for these discounts – Those eligible to purchase from the Apple Store for Education Individuals include faculty, staff, students and parents as follows:
- K12 – any employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the United States is eligible, including homeschool teachers. In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible. PTA or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.

Higher Education – Faculty and staff of Higher Education institutions in the United States; and students attending, or accepted into a Higher Education institution in the United States are eligible to purchase. Purchases from the Apple Store for Education Individuals are not for institutional purchase or resale.

Higher Education Parents – Parents purchasing on behalf of their child, who is a student currently attending or accepted into a public or private Higher Education Institution in the United States, are eligible to purchase.
