This promotion started the other day but this is the first time I actually noticed it. And, it seems to be even better than the terms would indicate!
This promotion will give you $10 in Orbucks (Orbitz’s “cash” for booking hotels) on flights you book. The flights have to cost a minimum of $50 and they are supposed to be roundtrip but it is working for me on one way trips as well. This is a great way to beef up your Orbucks bonus for your next hotel stay!
I have already used this on a couple of foreign carrier (cheap) tickets and got the Orbucks in my account already. I have done this on two different flights and got $10 for each one – $20 in bonus cash! This is like getting a 15% rebate on my airline ticket towards a hotel stay! Here are the terms and details.
Terms and Details
- This promotion is available to a select group of Orbitz Rewards members (“Eligible Rewards Members”)
- Additionally, in order to be eligible for this promotion, you must be signed into your Orbitz Rewards member account at time of booking or, if you are not a member, join Orbitz Rewards at the time of booking
- This promotion is available on select standalone flight bookings (not booked as part of a package or as an add-on to a standalone hotel or car booking) that display a Bonus “Orbitz Rewards” offer for that flight in the search results page
- Book an eligible standalone round-trip flight and receive $10 in Bonus Orbitz Rewards (with a total price including taxes and fees of $50.01 or more) – Ed: this worked for me on single one way tickets as well
- Offer is valid from Thursday, October 13 at 12:01AM CT to Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:59PM CT
- Limit one award of Bonus Orbucks pursuant to this promotion per itinerary and per Orbitz Rewards account – Ed: I received it on both, separate reservations
- Bonus Orbucks expire if not redeemed within 60 days of issuance. Offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Offer cannot be combined with any other Bonus Orbucks offer onsite.
- Bonus Orbucks will be deposited in your account within approximately 5 business days of booking.
- If you cancel your eligible booking after the Bonus Orbucks are deposited in your account, Orbitz reserves the right to remove the Bonus Orbucks. Orbitz reserves the right to change or limit the promotion in its sole discretion. Usual booking terms and conditions apply
Now, they could claw the extra $10 back but I am planning on booking a hotel soon anyway so we will see if that happens. At any rate, if you are planning on booking a flight reservation, it may be a good idea to hop over to Orbitz to see if you are eligible and get the free $10 in Orbucks!
