There are 2 new targeted Amex offers that will help you save some money on your cell phone bills!

Every morning when I wake up, I take a look at my phone for any new Amex offers. You never know what Amex offers will pop up in your account!

Today, I was happy to see 2 new offers for my cell phone bill! These were on 4 of my 10 American Express cards, and seem to be targeted.

Hopefully, you were targeted for one of these offers!

New Amex Offers:

Cell Phone Bill Offer #1

  • Spend $100 or more, and receive 1,000 MR points
  • Can be used for a total of 3,000 MR points
  • Must be used by 1/31/17
  • Terms say it must be used at one of the major carriers: AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint, and via mobile app
  • Prepaid plans, services, and phones are excluded
  • Payments made by phone, mail, or at retail locations are excluded
  • Other services, if bundled with wireless bill payment, may be eligible. I’m thinking this could work for people who have AT&T and Direct TV bundled packages, but I would think if it is listed under your cell phone bill

Cell Phone Bill Offer #2

  • Receive 10% statement, up to $30
  • Must be used by 1/31/17
  • Terms say it must be used at one of the major carriers: AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint, and via mobile app
  • Prepaid plans, services, and phones are excluded
  • Payments made by phone, mail, or at retail locations are excluded
  • Other services, if bundled with wireless bill payment, may be eligible.
Should you use these over your Ink?

If you have these offers, then the question becomes which card to use for your cell phone bill.  American Express is giving you 10 points or 10 cents per dollar, if you spend $100 on your cell phone bill. That is double what the Chase Ink rewards you with.

I would be more likely to use my American Express over the Ink if I were targeted for the 1,000 MR points. I’m not sure I would my American Express for the statement credit, but if you value your Ultimate Rewards under 2 cents per points, this is a better deal. If you value your Ultimate Rewards at 2 cents per point or more, then using the Ink is the better option.

Were you targeted for these offers? Did you receive any other offers today?

Dustin

After completing 6 years of pharmacy school, I finally had the time to travel. I started investigating ways to travel for less and when I redeemed my first award flight for my honeymoon, I knew I was hooked! Fast forward a couple of years and places I had never dreamed of visiting like Budapest, Honolulu, Bermuda and many other places where all within my reach, and for little to no money out of my pocket. Now, I have collected well over a million points and miles, and try to help people travel for less on their wallet.
