Boston Marathon Week: Last Minute Hotel Award Availability

Written by Charlie

This is it – the week that tens of thousands of runners have waited for, some for many years. The Boston Marathon is in one week! People from all over the world will be descending on Boston for this great race and to support those who run it. With such a huge event, it is to be expected that most travel venues are full or way overpriced. I would hope that all of you have your travel arrangements secured by now, but in the event that some do not, I have put this list together of last minute hotel award availability.

This list is not just for those of you who may not have booked travel yet. It can also be helpful to any of you who may currently have a hotel in a place that is not optimally located and this list may highlight a few places that you may be able to reserve on points instead.

Last Minute Hotel Award Availability for the Boston Marathon

As you might expect, most hotels are fully booked and not just award rates. The list of rooms I am posting here show availability for awards as of the time of this post but may be extremely fluid as travelers look for rooms. If you find one that works for you or is an attractive alternative to an existing reservation, book it right away. Check the cancellation policy, but most rooms should be available to be cancelled until at least the day before you check-in. Unless otherwise noted, the availability shown is for Saturday and Sunday nights and for hotels within 10 miles of the finish line.

Summary

There you have it! There are some amazing locations available above, including the Sheraton Boston Hotel, Boston Marriott Copley Place, and the Courtyard Boston Downtown – all within a one mile walk of the finish. The Boston Marriott Copley Place is only one block away. If you have never experience the relaxation of walking from the finish line to your hotel tub/bed and doing so in the space of 10 minutes, you need to try it!

If you are currently all set for Boston this year, at least look at what points can get you! There is plenty of time to start building hotel point accounts for next year’s Boston Marathon.
