American Express has been busy! Yesterday, they raised their Starwood card bonuses and today they are bringing back the very short-term business gold card offer. Until August 9th, they are offering 75,000 Membership Reward points when you spend $10,000 in the first 4 months. Yes, that is a hefty spend amount, but there are many ways that it is possible for one to meet that spending amount even if you are not normally spending that amount. I got this card when they had a one-day sign-up back in November. The points posted within a week after I met the spending requirement. So, with the amount you have to spend to get the bonus, you are looking at getting a minimum of 85,000 Membership Reward points. Pretty great deal!
I saw this deal this morning when I went to eBay, so it is a publicly available offer (non-targeted). Since you can apply for a business and personal American Express card on the same day, if you didn’t apply for the new Starwood offer yesterday, I would go ahead and apply for the Starwood personal card along with this one today. OR, you could go for the Membership Reward Grand Slam and apply for the Premier Rewards Gold card (personal) that gives 25,000 Membership Rewards after spending $2,000 in 3 months. Including the spending required, you would end up with a minimum (because of bonus category spending) of 112,000 valuable Membership Reward points!
