Cool New SPG Moments Auction Where the Biggest Winners are the Losers!

MLB packages
Written by Charlie

A new SPG Moments package offers a grand prize to sing the National Anthem at a Cubs game and get luxury suites. But, the losers may get the best deal in this package!

This is a repeat SPG Moments Auction from last year’s MLB season and it is a really cool one! For the person that has a good voice and really wants to sing the National Anthem before a Chicago Cubs game, this would be awesome to win. But, in many ways, the biggest winners would actually be the losers in this auction! Here are the details.

So, here is how this SPG Moments Auction works. The top three winners in bidding will be able to send in a tape of their singing to be judged if they will be the one selected to sing the National Anthem at a Chicago Cubs game. Cool, right? But, it gets even better. The “winner” (it does not have to be the top bidder – just the one of the three top bidders selected by the Cubs) will also receive SPG Suite tickets (2) to the July 22 game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Here is how the losers can really be the winners. The two bidders that are not selected by the Cubs to sing the National Anthem at the Cubs game will receive all of their Starpoints back and receive a set of SPG Luxury Suite tickets to the Chicago Cubs home game of their choice during the second half of the season! That’s right – as long as you have enough Starpoints to hang with the top bidders and have a “bad” voice, you can get free SPG Luxury Suite tickets to any Chicago Cubs regular season game of your choice! Last year, the winning bid was 230,000 Starpoints.

Of course, there is going to be someone in the top 3 who really wants to sing the National Anthem. The funny part will be if none of the top bidders really wanted to and all submit some not-so-great audition tapes. In that case, it would probably be the best of the worst that would be chosen. 🙂

So, here are the auction details. Have fun with this and hope you win!

The Sing the National Anthem Before a Cubs Game package includes:

  • Opportunity for one (1) to sing the national anthem at Wrigley Field before the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs game on 22 July 2017
  • Two (2) SPG Suite seats for the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs game on 22 July 2017
  • Complimentary food and beverages for two (2) while in the suite

Guidelines and restrictions:

  • The three (3) highest bidders for this package will win the opportunity to submit an audition tape to the Cubs.
  • If you are one of the winning bidders, you will receive further instructions and will have two (2) weeks to submit your audio tape for review.
  • The Cubs will select one (1) bidder to sing before the 22 July game.
  • The two (2) other bidders will have their Starpoints returned and receive two (2) SPG Luxury Suite tickets each to any game in the second half of regular season play.
  • All decisions are final and in the sole discretion of Cubs.
  • Please note: All bidders must be able to attend the 22 July 2017 Chicago Cubs game and arrive up to three hours before game start for rehearsal.

Yes, that is not the Chicago Cubs stadium in the featured image but it is the only MLB stadium picture I have. 🙂

    • I should have known better than to use that phrase on a miles and points blog – I am so sorry! I meant it in the sense like credit/etc. But, I will say this – we will call them Running with Miles points that can be redeemed for a United Club pass. 🙂 E-mail me your address and I will get one sent out to you. Sorry for the confusion with that wording!
