This is Southwest’s WOW week where they release different sales throughout it. Since Tuesdays are normally Southwest’s big sale day, we have a really great sale going on as of today. It is different than normal sales as you will need a code (below) and it is an “up to” sale so not every ticket will have the best price.

As you can see with the example below (BUF-PHX), not every day is on sale and not every discounted day is 40%. But, there are still a lot of great deals to be had! It works with points as well.
If you already have travel booked with Southwest, this could be a great time to check those prices against the new ones. You may not be able to simply change it in the reservation and get the points back since it is using a code but you can book the new flights and then cancel the old ones (if they were booked with points, they will go right back to your account. If it was with a credit card, you will get a gift card for the amount so you may want to cancel that and then book with the new deal – if it cheaper).
Did you mean to say you will get a gift card back? Shouldn’t that be a credit?
