The Frequent Traveler University will be hitting Seattle in just two weeks (April 25-27). It should be a great program and I am really looking forward to putting a lot of faces to names! This will be the first such meeting I have been able to attend and I am looking forward to getting to many of who may be there.
If you are going to be there, I hope to have a couple of group runs. I mentioned this a couple of months ago and there was some interest in this, so hopefully we will have a few people to go out! I will be getting in town early on Friday (the 25th) and planning to run Friday and Saturday. For Saturday, we can do the run in the morning before the event or in the evening after (or both!). On Friday, we can do it at anytime.
What If You Don’t Run?
If you do not run but have wanted to start, use this as a great opportunity to get started! I have coached several people in running and getting them to the finish line of races and actually have a little bit of training as well (USATF Level 1 coach). I would be glad to do some training/coaching for any beginners or those who would like to begin. No excuse to not come out and try your feet at running! 🙂
Route
I have been looking around for possible routes and found this one on MapMyRun. It is a 5 mile that takes off from the Airport Marriott (the host hotel for FTU). If we want something longer, there is about a 10 mile run to downtown. If there are just a few of us, we could get a car and drive to some nicer run spots as well. Let me know what distance you want to cover and what time you prefer to do some runs and I will try to put some firm times together.
Any pace will be fine – it will just be a nice opportunity to get to know each other and share stories while on the run. If any want to do some faster stuff, we could have a separate workout time as well. I will be up for a long run on Saturday, either morning or evening, so let me know if that sounds interesting as well.
So, leave a comment on what you would like to do! If you would rather, you can e-mail me as well at charlie at runningwithmiles.com. Hope to run with some of you!
Check the elevation. There’s a bit of a hill running between the airport and I-5.
Thanks, Scott. I did notice that – looks like it may be fun!
