Ever show up to an airport for your flight only to find out that the ticket you had bought was fake and you couldn’t fly? Yeah, me neither. But, I can tell you that if that did happen to me, I would not respond the way this man did. Here’s the story and video.
Man Sold a Fake Ticket – Goes Berserk on AA Check-In Counter
The incident happened in Santiago Airport in Chile and took place at the American Airlines check-in counter there. The would-be passenger had shown up for his flight from Santiago to Miami only to find that whomever had sold him his ticket for that flight had actually never booked a ticket. He had been scammed by this other individual and decided to take matters into his own hands – literally.
He pulled a hammer out of his backpack (so many questions on that one!) and jumped behind the counter and began smashing the monitors and then the computers. All told, the estimate of the damage done was around $22,000. He eventually was arrested and scheduled for his court date yesterday.
I’d say the best outcome from this was that he wasn’t actually able to board his flight to Miami. I know that hammer would never have been allowed through TSA but other countries sometimes allow things through on flights to the US that TSA would never allow. Like, oh, I don’t know – knives being sold right before the gate for US flights.
