I have mentioned before about the Ultimate Rewards Mall. I will confess, there are times that I forget to shop through that portal first (which makes me want to pull what little is left of my hair out when I see some of the points I left on the table!). I definitely try to be more aware and point-conscious instead of my usual quick self when it comes to online shopping.
For those who would like extra points and have the Chase INK Bold card that I recently wrote about, a great Staples deal awaits you for a few more days!
To start, go to the Ultimate Rewards Site – here. Once there, click on the Earn Faster tab at the top right. One of the store banners that will display in the middle of the screen will have the Staples link. Notice that it says that you get 5 extra points per $1 and that it expires May 31. That 5 extra points is on top of the 5 bonus points that you already earn with your INK Bold card (at office supply stores). That is 10 points per dollar spent at Staples!
So, what do you buy? If you do not have a specific item in mind, gift cards are a great option. They have a host of gift cards available. Below is the list that I had seen:
- Staples gift cards (duh!)
- AMC Theatres Gift card
- TJ Maxx
- Cheesecake Factory
- Starbucks
- Sephora
- REI
- Regal Entertainment
- Pizza Hut
- Michaels
- Marshalls
- iTunes
- Lands End
- Foot Locker
- Detroit Tigers (as a Yankee fan, that one is disconcerting)
- Catherines
- Bed Bath & Beyond
- Express
- Aeropostale
- Applebees
- Visa Gift Cards (additional fee)
- Brinker (which can be used at Chili’s, Macaroni Grill, On the Border Mexican Grill or Maggiano’s Little Italy)
- Chili’s
- JC Penney
- Legoland
- Jiffy Lube
- Kohls
- Nike
- Outback Steakhouse
- Regis Salon
- Ruby Tuesday
- Spa Finder
- TGI Fridays
- Southwest Airlines
- Marriott
That is quite a list! Almost anyone in America that has a credit card can find one of these places as a place where they plan on spending money in the next year.If that is you, then you should definitely plan out what you are thinking of spending on some of these places and buy some gift cards. For example, if you had to fly someplace and had Southwest as an option, you could purchase your gift cards for the flight now. If the flight was going to cost you $350, you would end up with 3,500 Ultimate Reward points which could be worth at least $50 to you in redemption value later. That is a great value! So, be creative and remember that the offer expires May 31st!
