Aviation fans, or avgeeks, enjoy the entire experience of airplanes – from watching to flying and even owning them. A retired Etihad Airways Boeing 777-200LR means that now you can own a piece of that aircraft as an aviation tag.
Own a Piece of an Etihad 777 Airplane
Aviationtag takes pieces of airplanes that have been retired and fashions them into little keepsakes for the aviation fan to have. They also give the details of the airplane that you now own a small piece of, like the aircraft identifier, when the first flight was and when the last flight was.
In this case, the aircraft being sold is A6-LRB and it actually started out flying for Air India before switching to Etihad in 2014. Apparently, this is the first Boeing 777-200LR to be scrapped and there will only be 15,000 of these tags sold.
This particular flight tag comes in two primary colors – coral and Etihad gold – but they are unique since they come from various parts of the airplane. The gold one costs €37 while the coral one costs €29. These are made and shipped from Germany so take that into account as well (though the shipping cost and speed does not seem that bad). I may be getting one or two for a giveaway – we shall see on that end of things! 🙂
If Etihad is not your thing, don’t worry because Aviationtag has a bunch of other options as well – Lufthansa 747, El Al 474,EVA Air 747, and an assortment of smaller airlines and aircraft as well.
These would make great gifts as well for the aviation geek in your family!
