A couple of weeks ago, Hyatt announced a very generous promo for their credit cardholders – a 20% rebate on points used for stays (award stays or Points + Cash, amongst others). According to the terms, the 20% rebate would post 4-6 weeks after the stay.
Well, after a stay last week, the points have already posted! That is very good news for people that would like to roll these points into new stays. So, if you were to redeem 50,000 points for a stay soon, you would receive 10,000 points back, possibly as soon as the next week!
This is helpful for people that only transfer Ultimate Reward points into their Hyatt account when they need them. For everyone that does that (myself included), this allows us to go ahead and redeem the rebate for a new stay (and receive the points for that) without having to transfer new points in.
Apply For The Chase Card
Even though the details had specified that you had to have been a cardholder in good standing on January 31, multiple Hyatt reps have confirmed that even new cardholders are eligible for the rebate. Besides, the two free nights you get after spending $1,000 and the annual free night are pretty great reasons for the card as well. My wife and I both keep this card simply because of the annual “free” night. We have great redemption nights every year and only paying $75 (annual fee) for those nights is a great benefit. Of course, the occasional spending promotions are pretty great as well.
You can actually get a $50 statement credit with this card if you go through the booking process on Hyatt’s website for a room – the improved offer will be offered before you confirm the room. Or, you can just click here.
In case you missed it from the previous post, here are the details on getting this rebate:
How To Register And Use
To register, go – here – and enter your Hyatt Gold Passport number. Once you enter it, it will show that you have completed step 1 of the promo and encourage you to go ahead and make your reservations.
This promo works on a variety of point redemption options:
- Award stays
- Points + Cash stays
- Suite upgrades
- Dining and spa redemptions
To have your point redemption be valid for the rebate, you must register for the promotion betweennow (February 17) and March 31. The promotion is valid for point uses from now through July 31, 2015 and only valid for Hyatt cardholders that were in good standing as of January 31, 2015 (so, no love for you if you just got this card in the last two weeks). According to multiple references from Hyatt representatives, if you get the Hyatt card even now, you will be eligible!
Yep..mine posted as well
