Southwest Sale Details:
- Purchase from October 4 through October 6, 2022, 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
- Travel valid November 29, 2022 through February 15, 2023.
- Travel blacked out December 16, 2022 – January 9, 2023.
This is actually a pretty straightforward sale from Southwest, as far as black out dates. There are no different periods, just one 3 week stretch from before Christmas until after New Years, which is pretty typical.
Now, there are a bunch of city pairs that I check during various sales to see how good a deal is and this one is one of the best deals in a long time. My favorite city-pairs are just at $39, when they are regularly $89 and might get to $69 during a good sale. Some others are at $29.
I’m seeing $29 fares on the mainland, like out in the west from different California cities to Las Vegas and Phoenix, for example. They are also between other cities but you will just have to check your favorites to see. Normally, the $29 fares are just for island hopping in Hawaii. Another confirmation that this is a great sale.
If you use points, that is just 1,111 points for the cheapest tickets!
Check Your Already-Booked Reservations For Price Difference
So, now is the time to search for your tickets within this sale and see if you have a better price available now than when you had booked it. If the price has dropped, you simply select to change the flight and look at the same dates and flights again. Once you go through and confirm, you will receive a refund of the difference in miles and the cash for the taxes will be transferred for the new ticket.
