Ok, in case you aren’t familiar with the various Garmin Fenix watches, let me give you a quick look. Garmin is currently in their Fenix 7 lineup so the Fenix 6 watches are a model year old.
Within the Fenix line, you have three different models – the Fenix 6S, the Fenix 6, and the Fenix 6X. The last character is about the size. So, the “S” is a 42mm, the none letter one is the 47mm, and the “X” is the 51mm.
But, wait, there’s more! 🙂 Inside each, you have the basic model, the Pro model, the Sapphire model and the Solar model. Rather than dig into all of that more, let me give you some important numbers. The Garmin Fenix 6, which is the basic model and doesn’t have some of the things (like mapping) that the other models have, has been on sale for as low as $300. Many times, the sale price is $349.
The Fenix 6X Sapphire actually has all the great stuff of the Fenix lineup like onboard maps, music storage, sapphire glass to have even greater protection (and it works great!) and more. This is, for the first time, available for just $399! Plus, the battery life of the 6X is better than the smaller models.
Even though this isn’t the latest Fenix 7 watch, it is also half the price! At that kind of price, I can definitely say it is worth grabbing! I owned the Fenix 6 Sapphire and it worked great for the entire time I owned it and it looked great the whole time, too, even with some banging around.
