When it comes to fitness watches, people are all too familiar with the Apple Watch and watches like Garmin, Suunto, Polar, and Coros. There are others as well like Samsung’s offerings and Amazfit. But, people may have missed that Fitbit has come out with an excellent watch that has GPS as well – and right now it is on sale.

Right now, you can get the Garmin Forerunner 45 for $149 and you can get the Apple Watch Series 3 for $199. Both are decent watches for what they are – the Garmin for providing good GPS ability for running and the Apple Watch for giving you a nice entrance into the Apple Watch ecosystem.
But, you can also get the Fitbit Versa 3 watch right smack in the middle at $179 – down from $230. This watch came out last year and has a bunch of benefits that sort of merge the good of the Garmin and Apple Watch for someone looking for a different take on a lifestyle fitness watch.
My daughter has the Fitbit Versa 2 and loves it. She didn’t care that it didn’t have GPS when she got it so there has not been anything that would draw her to the latest Versa 3. So, I do know a bit about the Versa lineup and I can tell you – the display is great and the battery is awesome for what it does. Remember, most Garmin watches have a no-nonsense display that gives you your data but not with much color. The Apple Watch gives you all that great color but will not last much past one day.
The Fitbit Versa 3 offers smartwatch capabilities, built-in heart rate, and GPS and does it all with a quoted 6 day battery life. Plus, it will also track your SpO2 (your pulse ox) at night – something neither the base Garmin or the Apple Watch Series 3 will do for you. It also has Alexa for more hands-free actions and control.
Sure, it does not have the app store that the Apple Watch has but if you want something for your Android or you want something with a better battery life than the Apple Watch, the FitBit Versa 3 can give that to you. My daughter even uses it independent of a smartphone and still loves what she is able to do with it (including listening to music).
You can get it in a variety of colors as well. The Fitbit Versa 3 may not get as much attention as other GPS smartwatches but at this price, it gives you a whole lot of bang for your fitness/health buck.
