Written by Charlie

Today is the first day of the Daily Getaways travel deals! First up is IHG hotel points. Find out what they cost and if it is a good deal.

The Daily Getaways are back! While there are some that may be right just for a few people, there are plenty of deals coming over the next few weeks so stay tuned! Daily Getaways is starting off right away with an old familiar deal – the IHG hotel points.

This one is pretty straightforward. The points in all packages are costing 1/2 cent each. You have five different packages to choose from – listed below – in various amounts from 2,500 points all the way up to 100,000 points.

The smaller amounts may be good if you just need to top up an account for an award. Since points purchased from Daily Getaways do not count towards any cap from IHG, you don’t have to worry about that if you typically buy IHG points when they are on sale.

Coincidentally, IHG’s sale of a 100% bonus on purchased points just ended this past Friday. The cost per point? 1/2 cent, or the same cost that these points are costing today.

But, again, you are not locked in to a minimum or cap (the only minimum being the 2,500 points of the lowest package).

All Daily Getaway deals start at 1PM ET. When they are gone, they are gone. Some packages, most likely like these IHG points, will still be around for a while since it is the same price as the sale and there is a really good deal on the IHG Premier credit card (this is an affiliate link) right now as well.

You are allowed to purchase up to 5 packages through this offer with a maximum of 16 packages of points per loyalty number across all IHG offers. You will get the points i your account within 10 business days.

The featured image is the InterContinental New York Barclay. On a random night in November, it cost 69,000 points for a free night. If paid in cash, the same room would cost $600 after taxes. This means that purchasing a 50K and 25K package would cost you $375 and save you $225 instead of paying for the room with cash.
