If you are going to be buying Southwest tickets – now or ever – make sure you do not forget about this great deal to get Southwest gift cards at a 20% discount! All it takes is 1 Membership Reward point from your activated account and you can save 20% on anything from Amazon, including Southwest gift cards.

One of my favorite things about Southwest sales (current sale here) is the ability to often stack the sales with Southwest gift cards that can be purchased for up to 10% off, via eBay. However, this 20% off sale through Amazon is a far better sale! If you are going to shop the Southwest sale (or fly them at all!), make sure you check this out first!

Buying Southwest Tickets? Use This 20% Off Discount Deal First!

NOTE: This works on everything else from Amazon as well – not just Southwest gift cards!

This deal started earlier last week and is still working – even for those who already used it early on! It is a great way to get anything from Amazon for 20% off (capped at $100) – and that includes gift cards from 3rd party retailers!

When you match something like a 20% off Southwest gift card with Southwest sales, you are going to be able to get some incredible travel deals! Remember, those gift cards do not expire so you could use them for flights next year or the year after, if you wanted.

What You Need

You must have an American Express Membership Rewards card added to your account for this promo to work (so go ahead and do that first). It sometimes will not activate a promo if you just add a card so you may need to try again later to activate.

When you get to your cart, select your Amex card and choose to use .01 in value for points (that will translate to just a single MR point). The 20% discount will kick in after that – up to a $100 discount!

Who Does It Work For?

Also, this is supposed to be for Prime members but there have been some reports that it is working on non-prime accounts as well.
