Every year, stores like to extend their return policy to allow for gifts to be returned after Christmas. This actually started at the beginning of this month (which is a bit earlier than normal, except for last year) so wanted to remind everyone about it now!

What is the Amazon Holiday Return Policy?
For packages shipped from October 1 to December 31, customers have all the way until January 31, 2022 to return them! This means that packages shipped today would not need to be returned for up to 102 days!
This means that items sold and fulfilled by Amazon do not need to be returned for quite a while. This is great news for gift-givers who find a great deal and want to wait all the way into December to give it (or, if you are like me and can’t wait, you make up a holiday name for the day you want to give it!). It is also great news for deal hunters. This is because this month is one of the best months of the years for deals from retailers but they do not always come out at the same time. So, you can buy from Amazon as soon as you see a great price and then wait to return it to see what other deals might pop up.
Don’t forget that, in addition to dropping off at local UPS stores, you can often return most things to a Kohl’s store at their Amazon drop point which makes for yet another convenient return alternative to a shipping store that will likely be quite busy around the holidays.

Also, remember that you can always do a chat with Amazon if an item’s price drops with them after you have received it. They will likely tell you that they cannot price match but you can still return it and rebuy. Occasionally, you will get an agent that will just match it to avoid the return but if not, just rebuy and return what you have already bought!
To return an item, it is super simple. Just login to your Amazon account and select the item you want to return from your Orders page. On that page, it tells you when the return window is open until and you are able to initiate the return!
