Another day and another nice Amex offer! This time, it is for Office Max / Office Depot and will give you $10 back on a purchase of $50 or more. As much as I hate to use another card at these stores beside my Chase Ink Plus (because of the 5X points earned), turning my back on 20% cash back is too much to refuse!
Not only is it a great deal by itself, but it is also a great deal to combine with Black Friday deals coming in just 11 days. For instance, Office Max will be selling $50 iTunes gift cards that day for only $40. If you were to purchase 2 $50 iTunes gift cards, you will pay $80 at the cash register and then receive an additional $10 back when you use your Amex card with the deal saved to it. That makes for a total out of pocket cost of $70 for $100 in iTunes credit!
Accessing the Amex Offer
Log in to your American Express account and click on any of the cards you have in the account. Scroll down to the Offers portion and you should see the following offer waiting for you! Interestingly enough, this offer for spend at an office supple store does not appear on any of my Amex business cards, only the personal cards.
Here are the details:
- Must be used by December 31, 2014
- Must be used in either Office Max or Office Depot or online at officedepot.com
- Enrollment limited (in other words, save this offer to your card now)
To maximize it, add the offer to separate cards, simply login to your American Express account and then choose to duplicate the tab (if using Google Chrome) as many times as you have cards. Once they are all open, select a different Amex card in each tab and select to save the offer to the card.
Don’t forget to go through a shopping portal if you decide to shop online! Use Cashbackmonitor for the best rates available.
$20 Off $125 Purchase Or More
If you are not buying gift cards or technology products, you can make this deal stretch even further by using code 97194381 at checkout to get $20. This code only works online but if combined with two American Express cards synced with this offer, you would wind up paying $85 for an item(s) that originally cost $125 (pre-tax). That is a pretty great to lay in any supply of office products you may have needed!
Summary
These are just some examples to get you thinking outside of the box for ways to maximize this current Amex offer. It is a good one, but when combined with gift card purchases, Black Friday, or other coupons, it can be even better!
Thanks for the head’s up on this!
