A short time ago, I wrote about the new Hyatt promo that gives you a 10% rebate on your points redemptions. I received many questions via e-mail, comments, and Twitter about if currently booked reservations will count. I did update that post about this but because it was a popular question, I wanted to give an update on it as well.
Hyatt Promo Will Count On Current Reservations & For New Cardmembers
The good news is that current reservations booked using points (whether it is a straight award reservation or a Points + Cash stay) will count for the 10% rebate, as long as you have registered and the stay takes place between July 11 and October 31. Here is the wording from Hyatt on this:
Guests who currently have booked redemptions (e.g., they booked them before today) will be able to get the 10% points back after their stay is completed as long as the stay is within the promotional time period of 7/11-10/31. Guests do not need to cancel and re-book their redemption stays.
New Cardmembers Eligible As Well
I also asked them about any new cardmembers who became cardmembers after the July 1st date mentioned in the terms. The good news is that new cardmembers will also be eligible for this promo! Here is what they say about that:
New Credit Cardmembers who sign up for the Hyatt Credit Card during the registration period can register for the promotion by calling the Hyatt Call Center at 1 (800) 323-7249.
So, good news for all those who already have stays booked and for those who may want to get the card to take advantage of this promo (and the 2 free nights at any Hyatt, of course, as a card sign-up bonus!)
