Carabbas is one of my favorite restaurants. I know people’s preferences differ greatly when it comes to restaurants and especially when it comes to Italian restaurants. But, it is always nice to get a deal and this new Amex Offer, combined with an ongoing promo, can get you some great savings at Carabba’s Italian Grill.

A new Amex Offer popped up today and I am assuming it is not targeted at all since it was available on every one of my Amex cards. It is spend $25, get $10 statement credit back. This is great by itself since you could use it when dining out with others and just have each person pay their own bill with an Amex card for the credit. But, when you combine it with an promo that expires this week, it can get even better – even up to a savings of 50%!

Getting the Offer

Log in to your American Express account and scroll down to the bottom. You will see Amex Offers For You. Select it and add the offers you want to your card.

Maximize The Offer – BEFORE You Save The Offer!

To maximize it, add the offer to separate cards, simply login to your American Express account and then choose to duplicate the tab (if using Google Chrome) as many times as you have cards. Once they are all open, select a different Amex card in each tab and select to save the offer to the card.

Make sure that each tab is showing the Carabba’s offer before you start clicking to save it to each card.

I have to say – one of the things I found most comical about this offer was in the terms and conditions. It already specified that you must use it in-restaurant, but then they used their normal language “If you order an item during the offer period but it is not provided until after 9/7/15, it will not count towards determining whether the purchase qualifies for the offer.”. If I am ordering food in a restaurant on September 5th, I would hope to receive it by September 7th! In seriousness, if you are in their on the bring of the end date, just make sure they charge your card before midnight.

Through June 21, when you buy gift cards that total $50, you will receive a $10 promotional card for a future visit (to be used between 5/11 – 7/15). This is a great chance to maximize your savings! In fact, you can save up to 50% with this deal combo. Here is the way to get the maximum discount on Carabba’s dining:

If you ask them to split the gift card purchases, they will do that. So, buy $100 in $25 gift cards, using a different Amex card (with the saved offer) for each gift card. You will receive 2 $10 cards for later use as well as receiving 4 $10 statement credits from Amex. This will give you a total of $120 in gift cards for Carabba’s (the promotional cards state they cannot be used together at the same table, but we have successfully used them that way before) and you will end up paying only $60 for that – a 50% savings!

Summary

Carabba’s is always my first check when I am in a town for a marathon. The restaurant has always been a nice one for us and we enjoy the food. With a deal like this, you can really get some great savings at a nice restaurant! Just make sure you buy the gift cards this week and use the promo gift cards before 7/15!
