When it comes to first class cabins, there are many people that want to fly different ones just to experience the uniqueness of it. With Emirates First Class on their A380, they offer one of the more unique perks for a premium airline cabin – a shower in the sky. It is really a cool thing to be sure (I got mine just after finishing my marathon in Dubai:) ) but obviously you don’t want to spend $700 just to take a shower. 🙂
But, if you want to fly on the Emirates A380 First Class, this is definitely one of the cheaper (if not the cheapest) way to experience it without using miles. It is a short flight – 3 hours – but 3 hours is certainly enough time to take in all the bling of the Emirates First Class experience. If you opt for the roundtrip, you can book it for $1,045. That is obviously a much better deal.
If you are interested in business class, it can be obtained on this same route for $463 roundtrip. That is a pretty decent deal – only $200 more than economy and Emirates Business Class is pretty nice as well.
If you credit these miles to Alaska Air, you will receive 150% of the 1,000 miles (one-way).
The route this fare is available on is from Bangkok (BKK) to Hong Kong (HKG) and is available on any day of the week. It is a first class fare and can be booked on any OTA (Expedia, Vayama, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc) or directly on Emirates. Just be aware that Emirates will charge it as a foreign currency so if you do want to do this, use a card that has no foreign transaction fee.
Is the Emirates A380 First Class experience worth $700 for a short flight? Not to me, but this will certainly be of interest to someone! If you find yourself in Asia, you could use this to get from Bangkok to Hong Kong in great style.
For those curious, the cheapest economy fare online is $208 (Emirates) roundtrip and $167 one-way.
Note: Emirates Chauffeur service is not available if you fly this route as your only flight on the itinerary.
