I do not normally write about when limited time offers are ending, but this is an offer that comes around but once a year and has generated some interest here. So, I wanted to put it out that Chase has let us know that the limited time offer of $200 as a sign-up bonus (or 20,000 Ultimate Reward points if you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink Plus/Bold) will end December 17th. It will return to the normal $100 bonus. You will receive the $200 cash back after spending $500 in three months.

The Chase Freedom card is a great addition to any wallet as it carries no annual fee and can earn an additional $60 (or 6,000 UR points) per quarter thanks to the rotating 5X categories. The categories for 2015’s 5X bonus came out last week and will look like this:
- January – March – Grocery Stores, Starbucks, and Movie Theaters
- April – June – Restaurants (and more coming)
- July – September – Gas Stations (and more coming)
- October – December – Amazon (and more coming)
If you max out the spending limit of $1,500 in each category, each quarter, you will earn $60 cash back each quarter or 6,000 UR points (if transferred to a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink Plus/Bold). That equals up to 24,000 Ultimate Reward points that can be transferred to any of the partners.

1,500×5=7,500…
7,500 points total for 5% bonus cat. Everything else equals 1%. 5%-1% = 4% bonus points. (4/5%*100) * 7500 points = 6000 points = $60.
