The other day, I wrote about the Hyatt category changes that will be taking place August 1. If you typically stay at a hotel(s) that will be going up in categories, it is understandable that you are not thrilled with the changes. For me, some of the hotels I frequent are going down so it is pretty good for me! But, either way, there are 4 Hyatt hotels that you will need to book before August 1 for one main reason.
4 Hyatt Hotels to Book Before August 1
The reason these 4 Hyatt hotels are particularly important is that they are going from Category 4 to Category 5. That means they will be going outside of the redemption ability for the anniversary night that Hyatt credit card holders receive (that anniversary night is good for a Category 1 – 4 hotel). That night can be a very valuable benefit and I actually used mine recently at one of the hotels before and found it to be a good value.
- Hyatt Centric Park City (Park City, UT)
- Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago (Chicago, IL)
- Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson (Jersey City, NJ)
- Hyatt Regency San Francisco (San Francisco, CA)
Each of those hotels can be over $200 or more (and way more, in some cases) so they each present real value for your anniversary certificate (which you get in exchange for paying the $75 annual fee).
Review: Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago
You can currently book through the first week of August so your current anniversary certificate can most definitely be used for these hotels until the categories change August 1.
3 Hotels to Wait On
On the flip side, there are 3 Hyatt hotels that will be dropping into the category range for the anniversary night. So, if you want to use your certificate in one of the cities below, you should wait until after August 1.
- Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort (San Antonio, TX)
- Hyatt Regency Sochi (Sochi, Russia)
- Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami (Miami, FL)
The Hyatt Centric South Beach and the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort could be some real winners on the domestic side when you use your anniversary certificate! So, wait until August 1 to redeem your certificate if these hotels sound attractive!
