Check out these award promos from Delta with discounted award travel to Europe and Australia! With roundtrip awards starting at just 26,000 miles, these could be a nice way to use up some Delta miles! But, don’t forget to check the regular cash prices on those dates also!

Delta has really turned away a lot of their loyal members with things like getting rid of award charts and charging exorbitant rates for some routes because of how they construct certain award fares. But, they do one thing that is member-friendly – award sales. This latest sale will help you get roundtrip travel from some cities in the US to certain cities in Europe and to Sydney for quite a bit less than the (old and now gone) award chart would indicate. But, act quickly before they disappear!

Great Deals, Buuuuutt…

Yes, 26,000 miles roundtrip is just amazing for Delta to Europe! But, if you cannot find dates that work for you, don’t let that make you discouraged! There are many dates that Delta is actually selling tickets on that same route for as low as $420. When you subtract the $57 in taxes and fees you pay on the award ticket, you are getting just under 1.4 cents per mile redemption with Delta Skymiles.

I know many people do not look at Skymiles at being worth that much but they do have a value. At the very least, you can get 1 cent per mile with Pay With Miles. So, 1.4 cents isn’t bad but just remember that this isn’t some incredible value you are getting either! In fact, it would likely be highway robbery for Delta to charge the standard 60,000 miles for that flight based on their revenue cost!

Australia Deals

Now we get to the one that is very interesting! This is Australia from places like JFK for only 50,000 miles roundtrip!

Yes, that is one long journey in coach! I have done it a few times – once, even back to back with just 2 hours on the ground in Sydney! But, with Delta charging almost 1 million miles for the same flight in business, 50,000 miles is really quite a steal!

Again, make sure you check the cash prices as well, depending on your airport of departure. For instance, out of LAX, you can buy that ticket for just $832 roundtrip. That isn’t a price to make you book right away but when you look at the award price, here is how it breaks down: the cost of the roundtrip ticket is $832 minus the award taxes of $116 to give us a per mile value of just over 1.4 cents per mile. Again, better than the regular 1 cent per mile but just keep that in mind with these sales also.
