While many people have shied away from United Airlines since the great award devaluation of 2014, there are many of us that still find great value with the program. While the partner premium awards were gutted, economy redemptions stayed intact and even some interesting premium redemptions have opened up for us. No matter what, whenever you can get almost enough miles from a single credit card bonus to fly to Europe (roundtrip) from the US, I think that is a pretty good offer.
The 50,000 Mile United Business Offer Is Here To Stay

The United MileagePlus Business card has had a limited-time offer of 50,000 miles for quite some time. I took advantage of it in December of 2013, so I will have to wait a few more months before I am eligible again (see below for details on who is eligible). Many people have been asking me when that offer might expire and I am happy to say that it looks as if the 50,000 mile offer is here to stay!
There has been a special link that people used to access the limited-time offer (and that page is still up) while the regular offer on the Chase website only listed the bonus as 30,000 miles. In my perusal for offers and deals, I found that the landing page on Chase’s website now has the 50,000 mile offer and actually says “Now Starting With…” for the bonus offer. Not only that, but there is no limited time language on that page as is typically the case for a limited-time offer (like the American Airline cards that have been “limited-time offer” of 50,000 miles for quite a long time now!).
That is great news if you are in the market for a quick and easy 50,000 mile bonus offer. The spending on the card is relatively low – $2,000 in 3 months – especially considering that this is a business card. While the personal card continues to only be 30,000 miles (unless you are targeted – see this post), it is really nice to know that we have a 50,000 mile offer from Chase that appears as if it will stay awhile.
Eligibility For Previous Customers
One of the reasons it is nice to see a more permanent offer on this card is due to Chase’s policy regarding repeat customers and bonuses. Last June, they changed the wording on most of their credit cards to this language here:
This new cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this business credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this business credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this business credit card within the last 24 months.
That means that as long as it has been 24 months since you received your last bonus on this particular card (the clock starts from when you earned the bonus, not when you opened the card) and you do not currently have this card, you are eligible to receive the bonus yet again.

The Offer’s Strong Points
The annual fee ($95) is waived for the first year, which is always a good thing. And the 50,000 miles you will accrue with this offer are almost enough for a one-way business class ticket to Europe aboard United or a round-trip ticket to Europe or enough for two round-trip tickets in the US. No matter how you slice it, there is a lot of value here!
If you have not recently (in the last 24 months) received this bonus, I think this is a great card to consider. Yes, there are a lot of great cards from Chase but this card still presents a lot of value. Even since the devaluation, you can still fly business class from the US to Europe on United for only 57,500 miles oneway. To get almost that with one bonus is a steal!
